About
Urban Data × Design Lab (UDDL)은 도시공간 데이터와 설계 방법론을 융합하여 인간 중심의 지속가능한 도시 환경을 연구합니다. 본 연구실은 Urban Network Analysis (UNA), GIS 기반 공간분석, 도시재생, 스마트시티 및 도시설계 분야를 아우르는 학제간 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
공간 데이터를 활용하여 도시의 이동 패턴, 공간 네트워크, 보행 환경, N분 생활권 및 접근성을 분석하며, 이를 기반으로 사회적 불평등, 도시 회복력, 지속가능한 성장 등 현대 도시가 직면한 다양한 사회적 과제에 접근합니다.
연구와 교육의 유기적 연계를 통해 미래 도시를 설계하는 계획가와 디자이너에게 데이터 기반의 분석 방법과 실질적인 설계 도구를 제공하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
Urban Data × Design Lab (UDDL) conducts research on human-centered, sustainable urban environments by integrating urban spatial data and design methodologies. The lab pursues interdisciplinary research spanning Urban Network Analysis (UNA), GIS-based spatial analysis, urban regeneration, smart cities, and urban design.
By leveraging spatial data to analyze urban movement patterns, spatial networks, pedestrian environments, N-minute neighborhoods, and accessibility, the lab addresses pressing social challenges such as spatial inequality, urban resilience, and sustainable growth.
Through the organic integration of research and education, UDDL aims to equip future urban planners and designers with data-driven analytical methods and practical design tools for shaping tomorrow's cities.

하버드대학교 디자인대학원에서 석사와 도시계획 및 디자인 전공의 박사를 취득하였으며, MIT City Form Lab에서 박사후 연구원으로 활동하였다. 현재 서울시립대학교 조경학과 교수로 재직하며 도시설계와 공간계획 분야에서 보행성, N-minute City, 생활권 접근성, 인구구조, 공간 네트워크 분석을 기반으로 한 데이터 도시설계 프로세스와 도시 활성화 방안 연구를 수행하고 있다.
Jung Hyun Woo holds a Doctor of Design (DDes) in Urban Planning and Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and worked as a research fellow at MIT City Form Lab. She is currently a professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Seoul, where she conducts research on data-driven urban design processes and urban vitalization strategies, focusing on walkability, N-minute City, neighborhood accessibility, demographic structure, and spatial network analysis.
